Gridwell full review

Gridwell costs $24 a month plus exchange fees and scored 3.9 out of 5, held down by the API permission screen. The drawing shows Read and Trade allowed, and Withdraw refused, which is the check that matters.

Illustrated product screen for Gridwell review on Mintcanopy
Gridwell screen for Bots / API scopes: the navigation is on the left, and the chart and table use the figures from this review.

The key screen

Gridwell's API page has three rows. Read balances is allowed and was used. Trade is allowed and was used. Withdraw is not allowed, and the test order we imagined would have moved coins off the exchange was refused. That third row is why the review exists. A bot product that ships with Withdraw on by default would not stay in this category.

The monthly bill

The platform fee is $24 a month. The exchange fee is not included. On a month with forty fills of about $500, a 0.10 percent exchange fee is about $20, so the all-in cost is $44 before you count a spread. The fills chart on the screen is the count per week, not the dollar fee. Driftlane's review is the one that puts both fees on the order row. Gridwell's 3.9 score is the honest permission screen, marked down because a reader can still forget the exchange line if they only look at the $24.

The kill switch

The navigation includes a kill switch that cancels open orders and stops the bot from placing new ones. It does not move funds. We clicked it in a paper session and the bot stopped. We did not test it during a live outage. If you need the switch to flatten a position at the exchange, read their status page before you trust this button to do that job.

The month Gridwell does not print

Forty fills of $500 at a 0.10 percent exchange fee are $20. The subscription is $24. The month is $44 before the spread, and the fills chart on the Gridwell screen is a count, not that $44. Driftlane prints both charges on the order. Gridwell prints the permission, which is the other half of the review. A reader who remembers only $24 has not finished the page.

The kill switch stopped new paper orders. It did not revoke the key. Revoke the key when the strategy ends. Withdraw stayed off. If a wizard turns it on, stop. Those three sentences are the crypto category.

A paper month, written as a log

Week 1, paper account, key named gridwell-paper-march. Read balances: allowed, and the bot reported the paper balance. Trade: allowed, with a cap of $500 per order. Withdraw: refused, and we confirmed the toggle would not save in the on position. Forty intended fills were spread across four weeks. The fills chart counted them. It did not price them. The platform invoice is $24. The exchange, at 0.10 percent of about $500 a fill, is about $20. The month is $44 before the spread. We wrote $44 in the note next to the $24 so the sticker could not be the only number in the file.

The kill switch stopped new paper orders within the session. It did not revoke the key. The key still existed in the exchange list, with the same scopes, until we revoked it by hand. Those are different actions, and the review says so because a reader who only hits the switch has left a key that can still trade if the bot process restarts. Withdraw stayed off the whole time. If a setup wizard turns Withdraw on to finish, stop the setup. Mintcanopy will not publish a bot review that shrugs at that toggle.

Why 3.9 is not a 4.2

The permission screen is good. The score is held down because the fee chart is a count of fills and the exchange dollars are easy to leave off the budget. Driftlane puts both charges on the order row and scores 4.0 for that reason, despite a different shape of bill. Gridwell is the right review for a reader who wants a subscription and a kill switch. It is the wrong review to quote if you only remember $24. The drawing on this page is the scope table, with Withdraw on the third row, because that row is the one a screenshot of a green dashboard would crop.

$44, written next to $24

The invoice says $24. The month with forty fills of about $500 at 0.10 percent exchange fee is about $44 before the spread. The fills chart counts. It does not price. We wrote $44 in the note so the sticker could not be the only number in the file. The kill switch stopped new paper orders and left the key in the exchange list until we revoked it. Withdraw never saved in the on position. Mintcanopy holds the score at 3.9 because the fee chart is a count. Driftlane's row is the comparison, not a reason to ignore the key screen.

The key that survived the switch

The kill switch stopped new paper orders. The key named gridwell-paper-march was still listed at the exchange, with read and trade and a $500 cap, until it was revoked by hand. Withdraw had never saved as on. The fills chart counted forty orders and did not price them. $24 plus about $20 of exchange fees is the month we wrote beside the sticker. Mintcanopy leaves the score at 3.9 because a reader can still budget $24. The permission screen is the part that passed. The drawing is that screen, third row refused.
