Accessibility statement

Accessibility statement

Mint Canopy wants everyone to be able to read our guidance and use our tools, including our budget planner, loan and EMI calculator, savings goal planner and credit card payoff tool. This page explains what we aim for, what we know does not yet work well, and how to ask for help.

Last updated: 5 November 2026.

1. Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. WCAG is the international standard for making web content easier to perceive, operate, understand and rely on. Level AA is a widely used benchmark for accessible services.

We have not had an independent accessibility audit at the time of writing, so we do not claim full conformance.

2. What we do

  • Use plain English and explain financial terms the first time they appear.
  • Keep text contrast at or above the WCAG AA minimum of 4.5:1 for body text.
  • Build pages so headings, lists and links can be read by screen readers.
  • Make links and buttons descriptive, so they make sense out of context.
  • Support keyboard navigation for the main site and tools.
  • Avoid relying on colour alone to convey meaning.
  • Use readable, resizable text and allow the browser’s zoom to work.
  • 3. Known limitations

We are working on the following areas. If you are affected by any of them, please contact us (see section 5).

  • Some interactive calculator results may be hard to follow with a screen reader, because they update on screen without always announcing the change.
  • Some charts and graphs may not have full text alternatives. The figures they show are also listed in text where possible.
  • Some older articles may use images without fully descriptive alt text.
  • Some third-party content, such as embedded partner pages, is outside our control and may not meet WCAG AA.
  • 4. Using our tools

Our tools give estimates for information only. They are not a personal recommendation and do not replace a conversation with a regulated adviser. If a tool does not work with your assistive technology, you can still get the same information by reading the explanatory text on the page or by asking us for a written summary.

    5. Tell us about a barrier

If you find content you cannot access, please tell us:

    1. The page address (URL).
    2. What you were trying to do.
    3. The browser, device and assistive technology you use, if relevant.
    4. Your preferred format, if you need one, such as a larger font, a written summary or a different layout.

Send your message through the contact page on this site. We aim to reply within five working days and to tell you what we plan to do. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) in Great Britain, or the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland, for guidance.

    6. Scope

This statement covers the Mint Canopy website at mintcanopy.com. It does not cover third-party sites we link to, which have their own accessibility statements.

    7. How we test and review

We review this statement at least once a year, and whenever we make significant changes to the site. Our review includes checking pages against WCAG 2.2 AA using automated tools and manual checks. Results will be recorded and summarised here when we complete them.

    8. Affiliate disclosure

Some links on Mint Canopy are affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you take up a product through them. This does not change our guidance, our tool results or our ratings, and it has no effect on the accessibility of the site.

    9. Information, not personal recommendations

The content on this site is general information for people in the UK. It is not a personal recommendation or tailored to your circumstances. Please consider your own situation, or speak to a regulated adviser, before making money decisions.
